Worked in the Communication Systems Institute (CSI) in the EE Department of the USC as a TA for EE84 - Communication System Engineering, EE64 - Probability theory for Engineers, EE441 - Linear Algebra and a grader for EE549 - Queueing Theory and EE550 - Data Networks.
Tait is an international NZ based communication company, with the largest R & D group in Australasia. I worked in (conjunction with) the space-time research group as a Design/Research Engineer. The work included performing theoretical analysis, design and development of analysis simulation software (mainly in C and MATLAB), design and development of hardware algorithms for the company's 12x12 commercial MIMO platform (on FPGA (Altera)- in VHDL and on an Ethernet-connected ARM (running embedded Linux-in shell scripting). Using the results of my work, four technical papers have so far been published in international conferences. I have been the principal author in two of those papers. In 2005, our group (of 12 engineers) were awarded the prestigious Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Innovation in Engineering Award for "innovating a new world beating product" (judged on an international level).
Working on different assignments in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Mathematics and Statistics as a teaching assistant. The work included, holding tutorial sessions, supervising labs and exams, marking papers and answering questions.
Working as a junior design engineer, database design and creation (using Visual Basic modules), troubleshooting, fixing electrical equipment, mechanical design (AutoCAD).
